Dad

Dad is a supporting character in H. Beam Piper's classic novel "Four-Day Planet" (1961). Walter's father and the editor-in-chief of the Port Sandor Times. A man in his sixties with a ragged mustache, always carrying a pipe he frequently relights. He is a staunch believer in law, order, and journalistic integrity, yet driven to exasperation by Port Sandor's deep corruption, making him consider extreme measures. Highly intelligent and principled, though sometimes a bit traditional in his views.
